A candidate cataclysmic variable discovered on 2026-09-07 in the Small Magellanic Cloud (host: NGC 0292 / SMC), at RA 00:46:54.23, Dec -73:34:03.47. Discovery magnitude 14.52 in the R-Cousins filter, observed with the UBC Southern (Thunderbird) Observatory 0.5-m + CCD. Reported by D. D. Balam (Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, NRC Canada), S. Chan (UBC), and A. C. Boley (UBC) under the DAO_OTS reporting group. A faint point source (Gaia G = 19.38) coincides with the position.
